I think the restaurant should consider either changing its branding or removing the Malaysian dishes from the menu, because the food no longer reflects authentic Malaysian cuisine. As a Malaysian, it’s disappointing to see these dishes executed so poorly, as it gives people who are unfamiliar with our food the wrong impression. We ordered the curry laksa, and the broth had a noticeable buttery flavor with a slightly sour aftertaste, which was very unusual and didn’t resemble the rich, aromatic laksa I’m familiar with. We also tried the nasi lemak. While the components were generally correct, the overall flavor was quite underwhelming and lacked the depth and balance that make the dish special. Having an Indonesian chef doesn’t automatically translate to authentic Malaysian flavors—despite some shared culinary influences, the cuisines have distinct characteristics. I genuinely hope the restaurant either improves the authenticity of these dishes or focuses on the cuisine it does best. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I won’t be returning.

Apparently they changed ownership and remodeled 2 months ago. Now they offer hunan cuisine and some malaysian. Cant agree with people complaining here about taste. Very different quality from old banana leaf. Their hunan dishes are very tasty. Authentic hunan style fish preparation. Good stir fry dishes

I’ve been coming here for almost 10 years, this place always hits the spot when you’re craving some good southeast Asian cuisine. I literally dream of the roti canai! I usually try to try a different main dish each time I visit. They are usually very quick and the dishes come out hot and fresh! I am disappointed they took off the coconut smoothie off their menu, I hope that they bring it back one day.

Delicious authentic Chinese comfort food. Every dish goes so well with rice. Cozy place with reasonable prices. Will be back soon!

Fantastic service and great tasty food! Dinner party of 3 and we tried a little of everything including the roti bread, salted fish fried rice, chicken skewers, penang beef curry and chicken curry. The owner gave us a free plate of crispy popcorn chicken due to their opening anniversary and it was super good. I highly recommend this place if you like Malaysian and Thai food.
